The importance of visual health

One of the most important senses is vision. Most people trust their eyes to see and make sense of the world around them. However, some diseases of these can lead to vision loss, so it is important to identify and treat these diseases as soon as possible. You should have your eyes checked as often as your health care provider recommends, or if you have new vision problems.

Care

Eat a healthy and balanced diet: Your diet should include plenty of fruits and vegetables, especially yellow and green leafy vegetables. Eating fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as salmon and tuna, can also benefit the eyes.

Maintain a healthy weight: Being overweight or obese increases the risk of developing diabetes. This disease puts you at a higher risk of getting diabetic retinopathy or glaucoma.

Exercise regularly: Exercise can help prevent or control diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. These diseases can lead to some eye or vision problems.
