Trial against fake plastic surgeons was postponed and will begin in November
The hearing against the group of doctors, of which Francisco José Sales Puccini is part, will begin on November 27. They are accused of having submitted false documents to obtain their titles
Although the start of the trial against the six doctors who would have obtained the title of plastic surgeons fraudulently in Brazil was scheduled for September 6, it had to be postponed. The hearing, at the request of the defense, will be extended and will be held on November 27. (Also read: "I put back the same used prosthesis": victim of "fake" plastic surgeons )
Those implicated, who were charged with charges in October 2017, are well known: Óscar Javier Sandoval Estupiñán, Francisco José Sales Puccini, Carlos Sales Puccini, Jorge Nempeque Domínguez, Ronald Ricardo Ramos Daza and Juan Pablo Robles Álvarez.
They are accused of having presented false documents that allowed them to obtain titles fraudulently. (It may be of interest to you: Women who dared to show their scars due to poorly done plastic surgeries )
According to the investigation of the Office of the Prosecutor, with the documents provided, doctors such as Óscar Javier Sandoval and Francisco José Sales Puccini obtained their plastic surgery degrees in an irregular manner, apparently with the collaboration of an official from the Ministry of Education.
The courses that Brazil did, as this newspaper has told on several occasions, are far from a specialization in Plastic Surgery. The study times were infinitely less than those of a medical residency. ( Read "It's like a massacre and you have to stop": victim of bad plastic surgery )
As the Prosecutor mentioned in the indictment last year, these doctors also have several complaints for performing bad medical practices that left serious physical consequences to several patients. Procedural fraud, falsehood in a private document and conspiracy to commit a crime are some of the crimes of which they were accused.
The victims have spoken on several occasions. The best known case is that of the journalist Lorena Beltrán, operated by Sales Puccini. "A few days after I had surgery, one of my nipples was about to fall off my breast and my wounds were still open.
Sales Puccini said that 'everything was normal', that I used unflavored gelatine and sanitary towels in my bra, so as not to be shocked by the liquids that came out of my breasts. I left his operating room alive, fortunately, but deformed, "she wrote in the pages of this newspaper in October 2017.
This week other women who were affected by these doctors were also encouraged to tell their testimonies. Lucilda Briggs, from Panama, and Jennilyn García Olivero, who lives in Puerto Rico, recounted the torture they suffered at the hands of Juan Pablo Robles.
"After six months, my right breast swelled up, opened up and pus came out. I spoke with Robles, who is the one I've had contact with all the time, and he told me it's normal, "he told García El Espectador.
